The Laying hens

The different types of laying hens best known to breeders are the Rousse breed, the Sussex breed, the Gatinaise breed, the Marans hen, the Harco breed, and the Brahma breed.

THE ELIEL FARM uses the Rousse breed much more because of its availability on the market and also its ability to withstand bad weather and lay eggs in quantity and in large volumes.

We buy our day-old chicks from suppliers and transport them to our farms. The purpose of raising layers is to collect eggs and meat for consumption. Layers are raised in buildings.
Once in the building, the chicks are heated and the entire breeding process implemented by THE ELIEL FARM is followed with the greatest rigor. 

After 5 to 6 months of breeding, the layers start laying by producing eggs. A hen can lay on average 250 to 300 eggs per year. The laying period can reach 4 to 5 months to experience a decrease around 6 months after the first laying.
The decrease in laying leads to the sale of the layers. We then move on to a fattening phase to obtain large layers intended for sale.
